Dear Team,

We are all another week into the lockdown, which the Government extended for a further three weeks last Thursday. I hope that you and your families are keeping safe and well, and are managing to enjoy some time together during these totally unique and unprecedented times.

We are continuing to produce and donate PPE visors to our fantastic NHS frontline staff and key workers and are fast approaching the 2500 mark; last week the Bolton Evening News covered the story and we were delighted to donate over 100 visors to Johnny Vegas for the Willow Bank Hospice & Whiston Hospital, it was a pleasure to welcome Johnny to the lab who is also doing a fantastic job to protect the NHS and save lives.

Our Go Fund Me page is starting to gain real momentum and we have now surpassed the £7,000 mark! We would really appreciate it if you could please carry on sharing our GoFundMe page, especially on your own personal social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter).

Your next salary will be paid as normal on the 6th of May 2020. To clarify the position on wages, as we know people are interpreting the rules differently and the advice and guidance has been ever-changing. HMRC guidance latest release is that we can pay 80% of your average earnings as salary, which includes historical payments for overtime and bonus.  For the majority of colleagues, we have based this on P60 information for the year 19/20, and for our new colleagues looking at their first few months to gain average earnings.  As you will have read, there is a ceiling of £2,500 gross, which even if your average earnings are above that figure, we cannot exceed from a furlough perspective.

We have maximised as much as we can for you, whilst of course working within HMRC guidance.

Below there is a letter further explaining furlough pay, it is a legal requirement that this letter is issued to you, and we ask that should you have any objections to being placed on Furlough leave, that you express these objections clearly to our HR Manager, Natalie, via email: natalie@swiftdental.co.uk within 7 days.

We will continue to keep you updated of any developments, however, for now, we wait as we all do for the Government announcements, the most important factor is that you and your families all stay safe and well.
